Overview
Your experience begins at the meeting point at Boatman's Landing at Waterfront City in Melbourne's Dockland area. You will be met by your skipper and crew for the day and escorted to the yacht, Veeword.
Once on board you will receive a safety briefing and be shown round the yacht. The deck hand will cast off and you will begin the 45 minute trip down the Yarra River to the Port Philip Bay. During this stage you will be given the opportunity to steer the boat and the Skipper will point out the places of interest along the river and answer your sailing related questions.
Once at the Bay the crew will raise the sails and switch off the engine. At this point you will have your first taste of real sailing, the silence, the gentle glide of the yacht through the water and of course the view of Melbourne from the water. You will get a chance to take the helm and to assist with the sail changes that are required. Alternatively you can just relax and enjoy the experience whilst taking in the views and the fresh sea air.
We will sail for approximately 90 minutes (60 minutes on evening trips) before returning to the Yarra River for the return trip.
As the yacht makes it way back to Docklands there will be plenty time for taking photographs sitting on the bow of the yacht with a loved one while the crew serves you with a glass of bubbly or soft drink as you prefer.
The yacht is a new luxuary 40ft Elan with 2 toiliets and fully equipped salon, flat screen TV and CD facilities. So come and tast the life style and join us for a sail onthe bay.
There is no fishing onboard.
Location
Melbourne (Melbourne - Victoria)
We operate out of the Docklands, Melbourne. We are able to provide free CBD pick-up for groups of 5 to 9 passengers. This can be arranged after your booking has been made.
Exact meeting point and supplier's details are provided immediately after booking.
Numbers
We have no minimum number for our trips and a maximum of 10 passengers. There will be two crew comprising of a skipper and a deckhand.
Session Time
We run trips in the morning and afternoon for 3 hours. Our twilight sail run for 2.5 hours. If you have a preference for morning, afternoon or twilight, please call us on 1300 46 36 48 to check the specific session is operating on your chosen day.
Guidelines & Restrictions
You require absolutely no sailing skills to come on one of our trips. This experience is not suitable for children under 10. The trip will be as physical as you want to make it but you can just sit and enjoy.
We operate an Elan 384 yacht, manufactured in Slovenia and bought new in 2006. All our crew are qualified under Marine Safety Victoria's rigorous certification scheme. This experience operates 7 days a week, 3 times per day.

It is recommended that you consider GoDo Cancellation Cover. This is insurance cover for losses incurred if the activity is cancelled (under certain circumstances) by you or the activity supplier. Click here for further details.
Please note: GoDo and/or the activity supplier cannot provide a REFUND for cancellations, no matter the reasons. However, should you obtain Cancellation Cover, you maybe be able to make a claim directly to Mondial Assistance, our Cancellation Cover provider.
